Political
Poetry, but political.
As the holiday evergreens are taken down
And the decorations are carefully boxed
Barriers go up in the capitol town
To protect the powerful from those they've outfoxed
Their system is designed to crush opposition
Continue a dominance forged in the dark
Shady deals dissonant with their public positions
The gap between power and governed quite stark
So reject their dynamic, refuse their rigged game
Stop playing by rules that change at their whim
Choose to be better, demand less of the same
Else we'll stay on this path with a future quite grim
